Don't look here for an insolent comment today...

Tom Wolfe called it "the Right Stuff."  Anyone who rides a long engine into the big dark has it.  The rest of us, we who sit comfortably on the Earth and make our petty judgments, have no grounds to judge their courage or ability.  There remain too few explorers for us not to cherish them unconditionally.
