MK-ULTRA, the post WWII covert CIA organization that practiced secret and controversial mind-control techniques and were exposed by the Senate's Church Committee, wasn't shut down as promised.  It quietly moved to Burbank CA, and now runs the movie industry. They really liked Legally Blonde, hence the sequels.
