A week of excuses #4: Plumbing
A plumbing emergency has to be handled almost immediately to avoid water damage on floors, a high water bill, city involvement. It can sound simple, but can be a real big deal. Most require waiting for the plumber, who can later be a topic of how much money they must make for just a few hours work. Again, details are to be avoided. Toilet backups and their clean-up, well, nobody wants to hear it. If you've had an evening where the overnight temperature has dropped into the low 30's, pipe bursting could be your imaginary source. Again, a wet shoe or just skipping your shower and shave are visual implications that the source of your absence is dripping with validity.
