Oh, now we're confident about the Florida vote count...
Diebold admitted its voting machines aren't secure. So Sequoia, a competitor is now being checked out. Princeton researchers have done a short manual, OK it's 158 pages short, on how to replace the ROMs in a electronic vote box and tipping the count in your favor.
And here's the cool stuff, cool as in keeping you up nights sweating about President Palin, it takes about 13 seconds to do the modification. And once the swap is in place that box can spread the modification to other boxes it's networked with! Like an electoral STD.
No hanging chad here.
Of course, this would only work if a corrupt government or governmental agency wanted to influence the outcome of an election. If they did, they could do so faster than you can say Governor Jeb Bush.
