Things we liked believing existed...

We all sleep better at night thinking our massive technological wealth of information and gadgetry is already out there passively protecting our hides.  Then we learn that something we assumed already existed, just got invented.

Case in point.  This Homeland Security Radiation-Hunting SUV spotlighted in Engadget. Yeah, it seemed a natural. Like something you'd be able to order from Sharper Image for yourself... oops!

We do like the idea of radiation hunting built into cell phones though.  But first, let's get some that turn off when the user is behind the wheel of a vehicle.
