Evil Xmas List #11...

You may think you know The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen because you suffered through the film.  But you really haven't experienced the real genius of Alan Moore and Kevin O'Neil from the original source materials.  You really should because they're satisfying adventure stories with more literary and historical references.  We can't recommend the following highly enough.

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Volume 1 and Volume 2. The greatest heroes, and a few villains, of the 19th century band together to defend The Empire. 

And this year Alan adds The Black Dossier, which takes Mina and Allan through another amazing literary romp which includes a lost Shakespeare play, a 3D section, comics, a surprising C'Thulhu cross-over... if you thought the first two volumes were dense with references, they were only a warm up.

Again, highly recommended for anyone who reads.
