The US Sucks
That is, when it comes to healthcare and meaningful medical investigations.
This just in. Canada has made a breakthrough in the fight against multiple sclerosis. A DNA vaccine is proving safe and probably effective in a Canadian trial sample.
The vaccine works by preventing the immune system from attacking the myelin sheaths that protect nerve cells in the brain and spine. That's the basic source of the degenerative disorder, as the damaged nerves no longer properly transmit their impulses. This is big news folks - Canada did this, and they don't even have their own Labor Day telethon!
Meanwhile, the US pharmaceutical industry spends it's amazing profits doing things like lobbying to prevent the spread of home-grown marijuana to soothe cancer treatment pains and nausea, and of course the well-known treatment of glaucoma. They couldn't control and profit from home grown marijuana, so they want to ban it.
The idea that the current US medical conglomerates would actually cure anything, and eliminate the related sales of medicines that fuel this unholy money engine... well that's just crazy talk. Almost as crazy as socialized medicine, another winning program in Canada, and most large nations throughout the world.
The same Canadian treatment has promise to work with diabetes, lupus, myasthenia gravis and rheumatoid arthritis, which (you guessed it) all provide lots and lots of money in "maintenance" treatments for the stockholders in US drug manufacture.
How's it feel America? We're beaten by Canada! Are you going to sit back and take that?
