G'Bye Ger

Once in a while, you run into one of those guys who've "had greatness thrust upon" them.  Gerald Ford was definitely one of those guys. 

While we can diss him hard for pardoning Nixon, we can't really fault him for much more.  It's difficult to imagine what we would have done in his shoes, probably tripped as much as he did.

Ford did get credited with the now much overused punch-line: "Our long national nightmare is over." He ducked two assassination attempts, and launched a career for Chevy Chase.

According to many, he was a nice, regular guy.  And, as you might assume, we'd take him over the current White House infestation any day.
