With school out, it's time to reflect on just how good some of you have it - or rather how bad it could be...
The subject: imagine Survivor played with guns, knives and other deadly instruments. To better control the population, a fascist government has taken a class of school kids chosen at random, 42 boys and girls, and put them down on an island. The rules are simple: only one leaves. Why? That depends on the version of the story you're reading, it's either to tame by example the out of control youth, or it's the ultimate reality show. In either case, the reason is just a set up for the action.
Ripe with allegory, character development, "Lost" like flash-backs, and plenty of sex and violence, this is Lord of the Flies, meets 1984, meets 90210/The OC. A story to experience in all three medium if only to claim the bragging rights to having done so. Fair warning, the collected Manga is 15 volumes at $10 a pop...
