Lady in the Water
by M. Night Shyamalan
OK, again with the confession that we're fans. This time, it's filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan, who brought us The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Signs, and The Village. He's got a new movie, Lady in the Water, set to release July 21st. But in the meantime, you can read the book.
Yes, we hear you complaining already. Another book, lots of pages and difficult vocabulary. Did we mention it's a children's book? And not a Harry Potter style book, this is a Where the Wild Things Are style book, with pictures on every page and simple sentences. A bedtime story Shyamalan apparently told to his own daughters, evolving over time.
And better yet, you can read it now, weeks in advance. That's a first for MNS. Maybe there won't be a plot twist at the end...
