This
week ABC is adapting another Stephen King
novel as a made-for-TV movie.
Tuesday night it's Desperation.
Fun novel, part of a
pair he made to say good-bye to alter-ego
Richard Bachman. Desperation is the
better of the two, but if you've got the
time The Regulators is a good read
too.
Anyway, we're passing it along to you as a recommendation. Most King novels don't do well in translation, mostly because producers fuck up the endings, changing them to make them happier, or happy, or simply to have a couple more people survive. We actually think that Desperation may be the victim of similar tampering for TV, but we hold out hope.
Kinda ironic that.
