Now it's a mandate!
Bush won the election with 51% of the vote and called it "A Mandate" for his policies of stripping away protections of natural resources, states and personal rights.
Now, we see his approval rating has slipped to an all-time low of 45%. They disapprove of his overall work. 53% believe the war in Iraq is not worth fighting and 57% disapprove of how Bush is handling it. Only 22% of those polled think he's got a handle on oil prices.
68% say that the level of US casualties in this "cake walk" of a war is simply unacceptable.
Of course, he's beating his father's low of 33%, and still has a ways to go before overtaking Nixon's 23% rating. But we have faith that he's not going to give up. Didn't he say so last week?
