Promise or threat?
You're all too young to remember, heck at times we're to young to remember, the cutting edge band Boomtown Rats. You know... they did the song "I don't like Mondays" which in retrospect reminds us that Columbine was nothing new except scale. Anyway, Bob did this great thing called Live Aid, where all these rock stars came and sang Feed The World, and performed in the name of charity for the hungry in Ethiopia.
Well, you've probably heard that Bob's back with Live 8, and while his message is little changed his method seems to be slightly different. Apparently he's working hard to reunite the Spice Girls. We can only assume he'll use them if contributions don't get high enough in time. "I warned you, you have to reach deep and give... but you're not coming through so here they are, Scary, Baby, Sporty, Ginger and Posh!"
Actually, we've heard that it was one of the prior Spicy ones just didn't want to do the deed (apparently age has woken her to how simply embarrassing the whole thing was.) The Live 8 folks are covering, saying "their style of music did not fit in with the serious political message about world poverty the transatlantic event hopes to portray."
However, notorious breast grabber Justin Timberlake is still ago. Guess he's got the right political message. Hopefully he'll be on stage with the Black Eyed Peas this time...
And before you get all "umph" about it, we'll be contributing to Live 8 right along with the rest of you. |
