Authority...
We know we're living in Bizarroworld, but we really don't need this much daily confirmation.
General John Abizaid, leader of the U.S. Central Command, told Congress that the Iraqi Insurgency is not "in it's last throes" contradicting VP Dick's statements last week. Instead Abizaid says the insurgency is just as strong as it was six months ago.
When asked about VP Dick's comments, Abizaid said "I'm sure you'll forgive me from criticizing the vice president."
Forgive? We'll applaud whenever a real authority on a situation has the conviction to disagree with an elected "authority." The Dick's self-serving remarks were based on little more than wishful thinking and a total lack of respect for the intelligence of his constituency.
This is a war being fought on two fronts: Reality and Trust. And those who aren't thinking, are the losers.
