Mrs. Robinson
Anne Bancroft died yesterday. For those who recall movies before American Pie, Bancroft was the original MILF having seduced Dustin Hoffman in The Graduate as Mrs. Robinson. The scandalous image of her leg stretched out across the room from a young and pensive Hoffman is one of those cinema images that says so much so simply.
We can't say we were terrific fans, never once said "gotta go see that Antz movie, Anne does some voice work in that!" But there has to be a warm affection for someone brave enough to say "To be an actress, you have to be a liar."
