Thirty years ago this week, Spiro T. Agnew, the vice president of the United States, left the office in disgrace due to exposed tax evasion.
Nixon appointed Gerald Ford vice president.
Later Ford became president when a disgraced Nixon stepped down from the office. Ford pardoned Nixon for any unnamed crimes Nixon hadn't admitted committing.
