New Toy?
OK, if you're a War Driver on a budget you might want to check out WiFi Signal Locator. It's keychain size and early reports are OK. Only about $30. But the downside is, no indication if the connection is open or not, you've still got to crack your PC open to find that out.
If you've got $400
or so laying around, use our toy of choice;
the iPaq 4155 WiFi enabled PocketPC. Not
only gives you some indication of whether the
signal is open or not, but you may not even need
to crack your laptop to get your job done!

Top that off with a Bluetooth connection to your GSM phone and you don't even need the sloppy wireless configuration to get online. We're living in the future, eh? |
