Tattoos?
When HP brought out it's own "iPod killer" last week, we were surprised they took a "if you can't beat 'em" attitude. Already somewhat chummy with Apple, HP announced the "Apple iPod from HP" (kidding you not!). So much for "HP Invent."
Their one technical advantage over Apple? Tattoos. Yeah, that's the big difference. You can stripe or ripple or otherwise "personalize" your iPod with your own tribal markings. Print it out, using tons of HP supplied ink and sticker forms of course, then poke it out and wrap it around your pristine white iPod.
Unlike real tattoos, which later become embarrassing (ask about our "Cardigans Rock" phase some day) the iPod tattoos are removable. This promotes the sales of more ink and sticker forms. Which means more "after sale" money for HP. And it looks like HP is going to sell the actual "artist images" on their site as well. Visual ring tones for your iPod.
Yawn.
Invent? Not hardly. Skin stickers and wrappers have been around for a long time now. HP Borrow! |
