Did we mention we love Stephen King?
And this week the fifth book in his Dark Tower series his the streets. Got our advance "artist's" copy last week. Now, we're waiting for a quiet moment to take off the shrink wrap and sit and enjoy. Bernie Wrightson, one of the master artists of the macabre, is the illustrator for this edition and what we've seen so far is unnervingly good.
So, for the uninitiated, what is The Dark Tower? A seven book story, five of which are now in print, that King has basically been writing since before he hit it big with Carrie. It tells the story of Roland, the last gunslinger of a world not our own, on his quest through worlds to save the multiverse. King fans will revel in how threads from most of his other works are woven into Roland's tale. Edgy and inventive, lyrical yet deadly, the Dark Tower series will surprise and delight readers who thought King was just all about the shock and terrify.
4 = 3
And, since that was all too positive for us to end a week on, this thought; Researchers recently revealed that regular bouts of Montezuma’s Revenge, commonly known as diarrhea, may protect you from colon cancer! Do we smell a new Taco Bell commercial campaign coming on?
